Detail

An apprenticeship framework is a work based training programme that employees can follow to become competent at a particular job. It includes time learning at work and studying for a relevant qualification outside of work.

Apprenticeship frameworks are designed to be used by many different organisations for example large or small employers, training providers, schools and colleges.

Apprenticeship frameworks must comply with specific guidance issued by each of the four UK nations, see attached documents for more detail.

Different groups of employers called Trailblazers have begun to develop these new style apprenticeship standards. The first set of new standards has been published on the National Apprenticeship Service website.
