HMS Queen Elizabeth’s mighty diesel generators have been powered-up marking a major milestone on the way to becoming an operational warship.
A new helicopter-borne surveillance system has been chosen to protect the Royal Navy’s future Queen Elizabeth Class carriers.
The MOD has awarded a helicopter support contract worth £580 million to AgustaWestland, sustaining more than 1,000 jobs across the UK.
The MOD is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Douglas as the Chief Executive of Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S).
More than 1,300 jobs across the UK will be secured thanks to a contract worth £3.5 billion placed by the Ministry of Defence.

We are a bespoke trading entity, and arm’s length body of the Ministry of Defence. We manage a vast range of complex projects to buy and support all the equipment and services that the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force need to operate effectively. We work closely with industry, including through partnering agreements and private finance initiatives.
DE&S is part of the Ministry of Defence.
