HM Revenue and Customs service availability and issues

Find out about downtime and technical issues with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) services.

We are aware some customers are experiencing delayed submission responses. We are working with our IT partners to provide an urgent fix to the problem and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Users of tax or business software packages

Due to scheduled maintenance for the new tax year, if you attempt to make a submission to HMRC between Midnight and 2am on 6 April 2018, you may encounter a delay in receiving confirmation if it has been successfully or unsuccessfully processed. You will still receive an acknowledgement to confirm if your submission has been successfully received by HMRC.
