1. Check your licence

It is your responsibility to check your licence documents before going to sea as licences can be changed at any time. The most up to date licences can be accessed on the understand your fishing vessel licence page.

The variations effective from 00:01 hours, Friday 1 May 2020 are as follows:

2. Under 10m Quota Decrease

Affecting licence Cat A (91/99)

  • Cod in ICES sea area VIIb-c, VIIe-k, VIII, IX, X from 0.05t to 0.025t (strictly bycatch only)
  • Skates and rays in ICES sea area IIa and IV from 2.5t to 2t
  • Skates and rays in ICES sea area VIId from 1.1t to 1t
  • Herring in ICES sea area IVc and VIId from 25t to 10t

3. Over 10m Quota Decrease

Affecting licence Cat A (11/99)

  • Haddock in ICES sea area IIa and IV from 4t to 2t
  • Herring in ICES sea area IVc and VIId from 10t to 1t
  • Whiting in ICES sea area IIa and VIId from 2.5t to 2t

Affecting licence Cat A (11/99) and Cat A Islands (12/99)

  • Anglerfish in ICES sea area VII from 2t to 1.5t
  • Sole in ICES sea area VIId from 1.5t to 1t

Affecting licence Cat A (11/99), Cat B (31/99) and Cat C (41/99)

  • Skates and rays in ICES sea area IIa and IV from 2.2t to 2t

3.1 Undulate ray bycatch VIId and VIIe closure

Affecting licence Cat A (91), Cat A PO (91) and Cat A Limited (94) As per licence Schedule paragraph 6.5 undulate ray bycatch in ICES sea area VIId and VIIe is closed from 23:59 on 30th April until 00:01 on 1st September.

3.2 Affecting licence Cat A (11), Cat A Island (12), Cat B (31) and Cat C (41)

As per licence Schedule paragraph 9.6 undulate ray bycatch in ICES sea area VIId and VIIe is closed from 23:59 on 30th April until 00:01 on 1st September.

3.3 Affecting licence Cat A Pelagic (17)

As per licence Schedule paragraph 9.5 undulate ray bycatch in ICES sea area VIId and VIIe is closed from 23:59 on 30th April until 00:01 on 1st September.
