The variation effective from 00:01hrs Saturday 01 July 2023 is as follows:
1. Scallop Effort Days for Q3
- Affecting licence Schedules for Category A (11), Category A Islands (12), Category A Pelagic (17), Category B (31) and Category C (41)
Western Water scallop effort days set to 70 days for Q2 (00:01 hrs 1st July 2023 – 23:59 30th September 2023)
2. Crab Effort Days Increase
- Affecting licence Schedules for Category A (11), Category A Islands (12), Category A Pelagic (17), Category B (31) and Category C (41)
Western Water crab effort days increased to 220 days
3. King Scallop Closure in Lyme Bay Added to Over 10m Licence Schedules
- Affecting Over 10m Licence Schedules for Category A (11), Category A Islands (12), Category A Pelagic (17), Category B (31) and Category C (41)
10.1 – Vessels over 10 metres in overall length; Fishing for king scallops (Pecten maximus) using dredges in UK waters of ICES area VIId is prohibited from 00:01 hours on 1 July 2023 and 23:59 on 30 September 2023.
10.2 – Vessels over 12 metres in overall length; Fishing for king scallops (Pecten maximus) using dredges in UK waters of ICES rectangle 29E6, 29E7, 30E6 and 30E7 of VIIe is prohibited from 00:01 hours on 1 July 2023 and 23:59 on 30 September 2023
