Statutory guidance

Variation Issued: Thursday 09 February 2023

Updated 26 April 2024

1. The variation effective from 00:01hrs Thursday 09 February 2023 is as follows:

1.1 Correction to Over 10m Cat A Pelagic Schedule

  • Affecting Licence Category A Pelagic (17)

We have removed a Condition which is not applicable to the Category A Pelagic Licence holders:

11.1 This licence does not authorise fishing for mackerel and herring by the purse-seine method, or by freezer trawler. A freezer trawler or seine purser may however retain on board any herring and mackerel caught as a permitted bycatch when fishing for other species.

This Condition was unintentionally replicated in the Category A Pelagic (17) Schedule recently, and has therefore been removed. We apologise for any confusion caused.

1.2 Clarity added to Over 10m and Under 10m Non-sector Annexes

  • Affecting Over 10m Licence annexes for Category A (11/99), Cat A Islands (12/99) Category B (31/99) AND Category C (41/99)
  • Affecting Under 10m Licence annexes for Category A (91/99)
