Notarial and documentary services guide for Botswana

Documents, certificates, letters and notes available at the British High Commission in Gaborone, Botswana.

Overview

Under the Commissioners for Oaths Act 1889, Consular Officers in Commonwealth countries have no general powers to issue certificates.

As Botswana is a member of the Commonwealth, the British High Commission in Gaborone is only in a position to certify documents required for Residence and Work Permit applications, until further notice. We operate a walk in system with no appointments necessary, please see our Consular opening hours.

Customers will have to approach a Notary/Commissioner of Oaths, or have the validity of certificates/documents attested by the issuing authority. The Law Society of Botswana has provided us with a list of practicing lawyers.
