Prison & Probation Policy Frameworks
This collection brings together all of HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) Policy Frameworks.
All new prison and probation operational policies are published as policy frameworks, as listed on this page. A large number of existing live policies are available as prison service instructions (PSIs), prison service orders (PSOs) and probation instructions (PIs) and as these policies are reviewed and updated, they will be reissued as policy frameworks.
The policy framework index lists every policy framework that has been issued and includes details of any updates. The index also includes the most up-to-date contact details for the owner of each policy framework.
Some policy frameworks are not published here because they are restricted or sensitive. HR and other staff-related policy frameworks are not published here but are available on your departmental intranet.
