This Policy Framework sets out mandatory instructions as well as guidance for Probation Practitioners managing MAPPA Level 1 cases. It aims to ensure the right offenders are managed at Level 1 and that Probation Service management of them is based on effective information sharing and partnership working, ensuring issues are responded to effectively to minimise risks and support rehabilitation. This Policy Framework will support Practitioners in ensuring all reasonable steps are taken to protect the public.
