The framework sets out which prisoners are eligible to vote in elections and the support that should be provided to them should they wish to do so.

This Policy Framework sets out the rules and guidance to be followed to ensure prisoners are aware of whether or not they are eligible to vote. Where eligible prisoners wish to vote, prisons must have in place processes to support them to do so.
This policy framework replaces Prison Service Order 4650.
