Details
This Policy Framework sets out high level requirements and outputs for staff in prisons and probation case managing prisoners throughout the custodial sentence.
It includes actions for:
- those held on remand pre-sentence
- foreign national prisoners while they are held within the prison system
It does not apply to Immigration Removal Centres or to young people under the age of 18.
It incorporates the actions required to deliver the Offender Management in Custody model.
There are separate Policy Frameworks and Prison Service Instructions providing greater detail for offender management processes such as parole, licences, Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) and Home Detention Curfew (HDC).
