Entry requirements and travel insurance

British citizens do not need visas to enter Slovenia. Your passport should be in good condition and be valid for the duration of your stay.

You should take out comprehensive travel insurance in addition to bringing your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). The EHIC will give you access to Slovene healthcare if you have an accident or fall ill. You will receive the necessary emergency treatment and medical care at reduced cost.

The EHIC does not cover costs such as medical repatriation, extra costs for accommodation or tickets in case you are not fit to travel, or cover stolen property so you should take out travel insurance.

If you need more detailed information on travel insurance visit the Association of British Insurers (ABI) website

Passports

If your British passport is lost or stolen whilst in Slovenia, please contact British Embassy Ljubliana for advice on how to get an emergency travel document (ETD). Visits to the consular section are by appointment only.

When you come to your appointment at the embassy, you must bring with you the following:

  • 1 passport photograph
  • police report if the passport has been stolen
  • travel itinerary or flight tickets (print-out)
  • the fee

Getting to the stadium

The number 13 bus runs directly to the stadium from the centre of Ljubljana. Special buses will operate from Kongresni trg (Congress Sq) to the Stadium. See this map (PNG, 1.03MB) for detailed information.

At the match

England fans are seated in block D.

Access to the stadium can be slow - there will be ticket checks and body searches at the entrance. To avoid missing the start of the match, get to the stadium early.
