We maintain and develop relations between the UK and Slovenia. The British Embassy in Ljubljana provides services to British nationals living in and visiting Slovenia.
Our work covers a range of issues including the economy, energy policy and international security.
We provide a range of consular and passport services to British citizens living in Slovenia and serve as a source of information about the UK for the Slovene media and members of the public.

Get an emergency travel document
If you’re due to travel in the next 24 hours, contact us as soon as possible.
- are over 16 years old and
- are a British citizen and
- have previously owned a British passport
- over 16 years old but have not owned a British passport before or
- not a British citizen or
- applying for a child under 16 years old
Once you have contacted us, you will be advised to make an appointment to apply for an emergency travel document at the British Embassy Ljubljana.
Other consular services
We may issue certificates of no impediment, affirmations or affidavits of marital status and, in some circumstances, perform a marriage or civil partnership for British nationals. For information on getting married in Slovenia see getting married abroad.
