Travel advice for British nationals travelling to Spain for the annual Gay Pride Festival

The British Consulate-General in Madrid has produced guidance for the event, which runs from 28 June to 3 July.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Thousands of people will descend on Madrid from 28 June to 3 July for the annual Gay Pride Festival - almost a week of events and festivities with the highlight being the parade on Saturday 2nd July, a focal point for parties, parades and street entertainment.

Madrid council have published a guide to Madrid and details of events on their website.

The festival usually passes without major incident, but as with any big event, you should still be on the look out for petty thieves - who will be attracted by the crowds - and take basic precautions to stay out of trouble.

The ‘Help for British nationals’ pages on UK in Spain’s website give you more advice should anything go wrong.
