G7 Foreign and Development Ministers met to discuss their shared interests and values, and collaboration as economic and security partners.
The Foreign Secretary’s statement summarises the main discussions and outcomes of the meeting. This includes topics such as vaccines and global health security, geopolitical and security issues, the Indo Pacific region, gender equality, infrastructure investment and development finance, and freedom and democracy.
Foreign Ministers from the Association of South East Nations (ASEAN) and the ASEAN Secretary General joined on 12 December 2021. The Foreign Secretary’s statement on ASEAN reflects their discussions.
Foreign Ministers from Australia and the Republic of Korea also joined discussions.
As set out in the projects document, the G7 is supporting a wide range of programmes and initiatives which have made a demonstrable impact in improving infrastructure in developing countries in line with the principals of the G7 Partnership for Infrastructure and Investment (PII).
