Passports and visas

You don’t need a visa to travel to Slovakia, but your passport should be valid for the duration of your stay. Remember to take your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you.

Take out travel insurance, even if you’re only going for one night - it could save you a lot of money if you get into difficulties.

You should carry your passport with you at all times for identification purposes as police officers may fine you or arrest you if you fail to do so. You should be ready to produce an ID (e.g. driving licence, photocopy of passport) at the entrance to the stadium.

If your passport gets lost or stolen while in Slovakia, you’ll need to obtain an Emergency Travel Document from the British Embassy in Bratislava.

Getting to the stadium

Due to the distance to the Slovakian town from major international airports, Everton FC is exploring the provision of free return coach travel from Bratislava, Krakow and Vienna on the day of the game. For more information and registering the interest, supporters should please refer to Everton FC website for more detailed information.

If arriving to Krakow International airport, supporters can continue their onward journey to Ruzomberok by train Leo Express. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hrs and you need to book your tickets online before the journey. Alternatively, supporters can use coach company Flixbus.

Supporters travelling from Vienna or Bratislava are advised to check the Slovak Rail website for available connections to Ruzomberok.

The stadium is located toward the west of the city of Ruzomberok, about 1 kilometre from Ruzomberok’s historic centre and main railway station (vlakova stanica Ruzomberok).

You can take a local bus no 1 and 2 from Ruzomberok railway station to Hotel Acko bus stop If travelling by taxi, you should use taxi companies with a clear TAXI sign on their cars. There are a number of private taxi companies in Ruzomberok and you can search for taxis here

If you do pick up a taxi in the street, always check the per kilometre price before getting in. Some taxis operating in areas frequented by tourists can charge highly inflated prices.

At the match

Supporters are kindly asked to arrive at the turnstiles as prompt as possible to avoid delays travelling to the stadium. The stadium only has one away turnstile with an entry barcode entry system. Supporters will be searched upon entry. Seat numbers may be hard to read as seats are faded. Supporters are located in the end section denoted as A.

The security will not tolerate any anti-social behaviour and excessive aggression, such actions can result in robust response from the security.

Tips

As in any other city, you should beware of pickpockets and bag snatchers at railway stations, around the town centre and when using public transport. Only carry what you need - leave spare cash and valuables securely at your hotel.
