British High Commission Kuala Lumpur moving up in the world!
This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government
The High Commission has moved to the 27th floor of the new, LEED-certified Menara Binjai, using recycled materials and low energy equipment.
The British High Commission has moved from Jalan Ampang to modern office space at Level 27 Menara Binjai, 2 Jalan Binjai, Kuala Lumpur 50450 on 1 October.
The move is part of a global strategy to modernise our estate and dispose of Embassy and High Commission sites which don’t meet the needs of 21st century diplomacy. It symbolises a transformation in our working environment and leaves us well placed to deliver Britain’s increasingly dynamic relationship with Malaysia helped by a 10% increase in front line staff over the last two years.
Several things are unchanged. The new High Commission will continue to offer its current range of consular services to British nationals. To make an appointment with the Consular section, please visit our Clickbook Appointment site. Visas to the UK will continue to be processed through VFS located at Suite 19.06 (19 Floor), Wisma MCA, 163 Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur and the Residence of the High Commissioner remains our main focal point for entertaining visitors and high level local contacts.
This move up in the world will transform our working environment and will be a far better symbol of our dynamic and reenergised relationship with Malaysia where some 80% of staff are working on the front line to deliver on our goals.Read the blog to find out more.
