Calling for bids in Iraq: Bilateral Project Fund 2018/19

The British Embassy in Baghdad and the British Consulate General in Erbil are pleased to invite bids under the UK government's Bilateral Project Fund.

Purpose

The purpose of the Fund is to support UK government activity in the following policy areas:

  • promote tolerance and integration of minority Iraqi communities with particular focus on ensuring inclusion in reconciliation efforts, supporting de-radicalisation post conflict and promoting educational activities covering these areas. – Up to £75,000

  • Support effective implementation of the Iraqi National Action Plan on Women Peace and Security in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1325 through one or more of the following activities:
      > technical and mentoring support to Government Institutions;
      > a focus on tackling the stigma of sexual violence at community level to improve the situation for women and girls affected by conflict violence and discrimination;
      > to support women’s participation in decision making and conflict resolution;
      > and contribute to increasing girls’ education across Iraq. - Up to £75,000



      We invite those interested in putting forward bids to submit a project proposal of activity in at least one of the areas outlined above, for example a proposal on supporting women in decision making roles or a proposal focused on girls’ education. These proposals should set out creative and original activities designed to have the greatest impact and deliver real change, and should include details of the outcomes they will achieve.

      We also welcome bids for co-funding with other Embassies in Iraq and KRI / International Organisations which already support similar areas of activity

      Budget

      Project budgets should be for a single year of activities undertaken over the period May 2018 to March 2019, up to a maximum cost mentioned next to each area of focus (see above).

      Projects not eligible for funding

      Projects focused on service delivery or projects that support military, construction activities, capital costs, or mainly staff salaries are ineligible.

      How to apply

      Those interested in submitting proposals for consideration are invited to submit their outline concept, including an indication of approximate project costs on the Project Concept form which can be downloaded from the attachments.

      Completed Project Proposal Forms should be submitted by 21 June 2018 to <HRDP.Bids@fco.gov.uk>
