The Armed Forces’ Pension Scheme valuation takes place approximately every 4 to 6 years to understand the relative value of Armed Forces pensions compared to civilian pensions in order to inform pay review discussions.

The results of this analysis suggest that for the majority of Armed Forces personnel, their pension benefits are on average slightly more generous than comparative civilian pension benefits (between 1% and 6% depending on the career path).
