Statistics: early years foundation stage profile
Statistics on early years foundation stage profile assessments including breakdowns by pupil characteristics.
We are planning to move from 2 statistical releases for early years foundation stage profile (EYFSP) to one, and welcome your comments on this change.
In 2018 we released the main tables on 18 October followed by characteristics tables on 29 November. This year a single release is planned for late November, and is likely to be in mid-November in future years. This release will contain all of the breakdowns that were included in the two releases last year – nothing is being removed.
This change is in line with our intention to improve the coherence of DfE statistics published last year. It will allow us to make the methodology consistent across all of the statistics we publish for EYFSP and provide commentary covering both the characteristics breakdowns and the headline national story which is not currently possible in a split release. This change is also planned to tie in with our move to releasing statistics on the department’s new Explore Education Statistics dissemination platform, aimed at making our statistics more accessible and flexible for a wider range of users.
