Information for applicants to the Windrush Scheme and Windrush Compensation Scheme.

If you’re settled in the UK but do not have a document to prove it, you may be eligible to apply to the Windrush Scheme.

Find out about the Windrush Scheme and how you can apply for a document to prove you can live and work in the UK. It’s free to apply.

You may also be able to apply for compensation through the Windrush Compensation Scheme if you suffered a loss because you could not show you had the right to live in the UK.

Documents related to the Windrush Compensation Scheme (Expenditure) Act 2020 can be found on the Parliament website. The Act gives the Home Office parliamentary financial authority to make payments under the Windrush Compensation Scheme.
