Urgent assistance

Get an emergency travel document

You can apply for an emergency travel document if you’re abroad and your passport has been lost or stolen, damaged or expired, and you can’t get a new or replacement passport in time to travel.

Apply online for an emergency travel document

If the person needing the emergency travel document is under 16, a parent or guardian should apply on their behalf.

Notarial and documentary services

Documentary services for UK nationals wishing to marry in Greece are now available by appointment only at the Athens offices and our Consular network around Greece. Find out more on our British Embassy Athens page.

If you require

  • a certified copy of your British passport, or

  • a signed and stamped version of one of our standard letters

you can request for it to be issued and sent to you by post and pay the fee/ postal costs by credit card. To make a request, use our contact form for consular enquiries.

Marriage and civil partnerships
