Other related data and profiles are produced by Public Health England to support palliative and end of life care service delivery. These are available on:

Data and intelligence

These data resources can be used by service providers, commissioners and policy makers in facilitating, scoping and implementing local services.

The Atlas of variation for palliative and end of life care pdfs are located in the ‘Themed Atlas’ section. They contain 29 indicators on the quality of care in hospitals, services and in the community.

A supporting NHS Interactive Atlas version enables organisations to view the data at a local level and see where they sit within the national landscape or within their peer groups. The Atlas includes maps, charts, time series data and associated statistics across all the indicators.

The latest information on ‘the number and proportion of deaths by place of occurrence’ is published on Office for National Statistics.

The End of life care economic analysis tool helps commissioners make cost-effective decisions around implementing palliative and end of life care services.
