We maintain and develop relations between the UK and Portugal. The British Vice Consulate in Portimão provides services to British nationals living in and visiting Portugal.

Public access to the British Consulate is by appointment only.

Due to COVID-19 measures, anyone attending the British Embassy or Consulate must wear a facemask. Details of those who are exempt from using a facemask can be found on the Coronavirus page of our Travel Advice. Wherever possible, the person with an appointment or collecting an Emergency Travel Document should attend the Consulate unaccompanied. Exceptions include minors and vulnerable or disabled customers.

You can access UK government services while in Portugal.
