We maintain and develop relations between the UK and Cambodia. The British Embassy in Phnom Penh provides services to British nationals living in and visiting Cambodia.

We promote UK interests through a strong, effective relationship with Cambodia. We work in a number of areas including STEM education, human rights and good governance, climate change, and child protection.

We provide support and advice to the growing number of UK companies doing businesses in Cambodia, and provide consular assistance to British nationals, over 135,000 of whom visit Cambodia each year.

We also provide significant financial support to the Extraordinary Chambers of the Courts of Cambodia (Khmer Rouge Tribunal) to bring to justice those responsible for the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge era.

You can access UK government services while in Cambodia.

Get an emergency travel document

You can apply for an emergency travel document if you’re abroad and your passport has been lost or stolen, damaged or expired, and you can’t get a new or replacement passport in time to travel.

You will need to get a police report (PDF, 32.1KB, 1 page) if your passport has been stolen or lost before an emergency travel document can be issued.

Apply online for an emergency travel document if you:

  • are over 16 years old and
  • are a British citizen and
  • have previously owned a British passport

Contact us to apply for an emergency travel document if you are:

  • over 16 years old but have not owned a British passport before or
  • not a British citizen or
  • applying for a child under 16 years old

Once you have contacted us, you will be advised to book an appointment for an emergency travel document at British Embassy Phnom Penh
