Get proof of your benefits and State Pension
Use this service to get proof of:
- Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for adults
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) - all types
- Income Support
- Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) - all types
- Pension Credit
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- State Pension
This service is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).
You can get proof of your benefits or State Pension:
- digitally - by downloading the file to your device
- by post - this can take up to one week to arrive
To get proof of Universal Credit, sign in to your Universal Credit account.
To get proof of any other benefit, contact the benefit team directly.
Before you start
If you’ve moved address and have not told the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), you need to report it as a change of circumstances before using this service.
You need to register for an account if you’ve not used this service before.
To register, you need:
- an email address
- a mobile phone number
- your National Insurance number
You’ll also have to prove your identity. You’ll need details of 2 types of identity documents for this, for example your:
- passport
- driving licence (you cannot use a Northern Ireland driving licence)
- Self Assessment, if you have one
- bank accounts, loans, mortgages or credit agreements
If you’ve already registered
You need the email address, mobile phone and password you used to register.
Who cannot use this service
You cannot use this service if:
- you’re an appointee or manage somebody else’s benefits or State Pension
- you live outside of the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland)
