Claiming your State Pension for the first time
You’ll get a letter no later than 2 months before you reach State Pension age.
Once you get the letter, you can put in a claim for your State Pension online or by phoning the claim line.

Contact the Pension Service for information about your State Pension. You can also report a change in your circumstances, for example your address or bank account details.

Get a State Pension forecast
You can check how much State Pension you could get when you reach State Pension age by either:
- using the online service
- contacting the Future Pension Centre
- filling in the BR19 form and sending it in the post
Write to the Pension Service
Find your local pension centre if you want to write to the Pension Service. You can also get the phone number. You’ll need your postcode.
Complain about the Pension Service
Contact the Department for Work and Pensions to complain about the Pension Service.
