Sign in to your payment provider account for Tax-Free Childcare
How to sign in and update your account details and nominate a delegate.
Sign in to your account
There’s a different way to sign in to Tax-Free Childcare if you’re a parent or a childcare provider.
If you’re a payment provider and have already signed up to Tax-Free Childcare, you can sign in and manage your account.
If you’re a payment provider and have not signed up, you can sign up to Tax-Free Childcare. HMRC will review your request and contact you about the next steps before confirming if your account can be used.
You’ll need your 11-digit user ID and password. You can find the user ID on your sign up to Tax-Free Childcare registration letter.
If you did not receive a letter or have lost your user ID contact the helpline.

HMRC services may be slow during busy times. Check if there are any problems with this service.
Managing your account
Keeping your details up to date
You must keep your Tax-Free Childcare security information up to date. If you need to make any changes, tell us using your payment provider account.
If you need to update your main contact details for Tax-Free Childcare, you must contact the Childcare Service helpline.
The main contact details are your:
- name on the account
- business address
- email address
Nominating a delegate
You can ask someone else to manage your payment provider account for you.
When you’re signed in to your payment provider account you can use the ‘delegate’ option to add another person to manage your account.
Your nominated delegate must be someone who either works in your local office or someone who works with you. They must have access to your payment provider account.
To give this person access, you’ll need their:
- name
- address
- email address
We will send your nominated delegate a Tax-Free Childcare delegate letter explaining their responsibilities.
