Reporting fraud: Homes for Ukraine
This page informs Homes for Ukraine guests of how they can report suspected fraud, and who they should contact depending on the activity being reported.
You can report someone who you think is defrauding the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
Please make sure that you are reporting to the right government department – there are many kinds of fraudulent activity and each one needs to be reported to the right government department for it to be investigated properly.
Give as much information as you can about the person you are reporting. This could include:
- their name
- their address
- the type of fraud you think they are committing
You can make a report anonymously - you do not have to give your name or contact details unless you want to.
Contacting the police
You must contact the police for any of these serious problems:
- in emergencies, such as when a crime is happening, or someone is in danger now, call 999
- crimes that are not an emergency
- terrorist activity
Visa and immigration fraud
You must contact the Home Office if you think someone is:
- living or working in the UK illegally
- employing someone who is not allowed to work in the UK
- involved in smuggling
- involved in illegal immigration
Report visa or immigration fraud
Benefit fraud
You must contact the Department of Works and Pensions (DWP (Department for Work and Pensions)) if you think someone is committing benefit fraud.
Fraud directly related to Homes for Ukraine
Contact your local council to report anything suspicious that is directly related to the Home for Ukraine scheme and not covered by one of the sections above.
You may also be able to report your concerns to a voluntary organisation or charity you have had contact with.
