Industrial Energy Transformation Fund

The £315 million Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) will support businesses with high energy use to transition to a low carbon future.

The IETF will help businesses with high energy use, such as energy intensive industries, to cut their energy bills and carbon emissions through investing in energy efficiency and low-carbon technologies.

The IETF is part of our modern Industrial Strategy, boosting the productivity of the UK economy whilst contributing to the government’s target to reduce the UK’s emissions to net zero by 2050.

Designing the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund

We recently sought views and evidence through a consultation Designing the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund on how we can design the fund to maximise its benefits, while ensuring value for money. We are currently analysing the responses and using them to shape the development of the fund.

Seeking views from business

We are also seeking information from businesses about potential energy-saving and carbon-saving projects that they would like to implement.

This information will help us to better understand the pool of potential projects that may apply to the fund so we can design it to meet the needs of industry.
