Every year in March we celebrate Open Government Week when open government doers, leaders, and thinkers from around the world come together to share ideas, discuss solutions, and commit to new levels of citizen participation in government. The initiative was started by the Open Government Partnership (OGP), an international organisation formed in 2011 with the UK as a founding member, to promote transparency, open government and citizen participation globally.
