Directions given to the National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA).

Details

The 2013 directions to the NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA):

  • transfer the functions of the National Clinical Assessment Service (NCAS) to the NHSLA

  • allow the NHSLA to handle and process claims arising from liabilities transferred to the Secretary of State

  • allow the NHSLA to handle and process claims relating to the activities of Jimmy Savile

They came into force on 1 April 2013.

The Amendment Directions extend the scope of the claims that the NHSLA is directed to handle in respect of the liabilities transferred to the Secretary of State in April 2013.

The Amendment Directions 2015 concern the handling and processing of claims relating to the activities of Johnny Savile.

The National Health Service Litigation Authority (Scheme for Meeting Social Care Liabilities ) Directions 2016 allow the NHSLA to handle and process claims arising from the provision of social care in integrated settings. These Directions came into force on the 29 November 2016
