Healthy Child Programme: review of children aged 2

The review aims to improve child development and emotional wellbeing, and to reduce inequalities.

This publication explains the evidence based content and process for the 2 to 2½ yr review and emphasises:

  • preventing obesity
  • promoting emotional wellbeing
  • language and learning development

It also recommends closer working with Early Years Services to reduce duplication and ensure a smooth transition between health and Early Years settings. The review provides practitioners, particularly health visitors, with information and tools to use with parents.
