Registering historic events in the registers of common land or of town or village greens.

You can use this form to record particular events regarding rights of common which should have been recorded in the registers, but weren’t.
These events are:
- creation,
- variation,
- apportionment,
- severance,
- surrender or extinguishment,
- transfer of a right in gross,
- statutory disposition which acquires a common or a green and either extinguishes it or transfers it to other land given in exchange.
You have 4 years (15 December 2014 to 14 December 2018) to record historic events in the registers. During the first 3 years it’s free to apply, but in year 4 there may be a fee. You can also apply in year 5 onwards, but there will be a fairness test and possibly a fee.
This relates to schedule 3 of the Commons Act 2006.
