Historic events (CA14)

Details

You can use this form to record particular events regarding rights of common which should have been recorded in the registers, but weren’t.

These events are:

  • creation,
  • variation,
  • apportionment,
  • severance,
  • surrender or extinguishment,
  • transfer of a right in gross,
  • statutory disposition which acquires a common or a green and either extinguishes it or transfers it to other land given in exchange.

You have 4 years (15 December 2014 to 14 December 2018) to record historic events in the registers. During the first 3 years it’s free to apply, but in year 4 there may be a fee. You can also apply in year 5 onwards, but there will be a fairness test and possibly a fee.

This relates to schedule 3 of the Commons Act 2006.
