Baroness Randerson

Biography

Baroness Randerson became Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Wales in September 2012. She is a Welsh Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords.

Education

Baroness Randerson studied at Bedford College, University of London.

Political career

After her election to the National Assembly for Wales in 2000, she served as Minister for Culture and Sport and the Welsh Language from 2000 to 2003 and as acting Welsh Deputy First Minister from 6 July 2001 to 13 June 2002.

She later served as the Liberal Democrat Spokesman in the National Assembly for a number of areas, including health and social services, finance, education and the economy.

Baroness Randerson was made a life peer in January 2011.

Career outside politics

Baroness Randerson served as a Cardiff councillor from 1983 to 2000 and was a lecturer at Cardiff Tertiary College.

Personal life

Baroness Randerson has lived in Cardiff since the early 1970s. She enjoys gardening, going to the cinema, theatre and concerts and learning Welsh.
