Information about the latest release of statistics

The latest release (published on 31 July 2026) is the thirteenth edition in the series, extends the data series to 2025 and provides new additions to the statistical series.

The latest release offers greater information on the workplace pension participation of all employees, not just those eligible for Automatic Enrolment (AE), as well as more detailed information including on age, gender and earnings.

The release shows that after years of growth in participation during the roll-out of automatic enrolment, participation rates have stabilised in recent years. Trends in stopping saving levels and contributions have also remained relatively stable. While trends in stopping saving levels and contribution opt-outs have both risen in the latest year they remain low as a proportion of the AE-eligible population.

The 2026 release includes new RTI tables showing Automatic Enrolment opt-out and stopped saving rates by age, gender and earnings. These additional breakdowns provide greater insight into how Automatic Enrolment participation varies across different groups.

The 2026 release expands the analysis of pension decumulation products by providing breakdowns by age and gender. The additional breakdowns provides users with a more detailed understanding of how different groups access DB and DC-type pension savings in later life.
