Mass demonstrations and disruption to public services
Mass demonstrations and widespread disruption to public services will take place across Greece on 28 February to mark the third anniversary of the 2023 Tempi Valley train collision (Thessaly region, central Greece).
Public transport will face serious disruptions and suspension to services. Ferries and nationwide trains will conduct a 24-hour strike. Expect cancellations and delays.
Public services, including hospitals, will face widespread disruptions and may only deal with emergency cases.
For information on how to stay safe during demonstrations, see Safety and security page.
