Where you can claim benefits

European Economic Area (EEA) countries

There will be no change to the rights and status of UK nationals living in the EU, nor EU citizens in the UK, while the UK remains in the EU. EU citizens will be able to apply for ‘settled status’ to continue living in the UK after June 2021.

Switzerland is not a member of the EEA but is treated as an EEA country for certain benefits.

You may be able to claim certain benefits in these countries but it will depend on the particular country.
