Overview

You’ll usually pay tax on income from your pensions. This includes your State Pension.

The amount of tax you pay depends on the total income you receive during the tax year.

You pay tax if your total annual income adds up to more than your Personal Allowance - this is usually £12,570.

This guide is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).
