Services for UKHSA staff: UKHSA Knowledge and Library Services

This page details the Knowledge and Library Services (KLS) available to UKHSA staff.

UKHSA staff have access to all services provided by Knowledge and Library Services, including: 

Access to resources 

Access databases, journals, and eBooks using your UKHSA login. Start at MyAthens (UKHSA) to make sure you are logged in with your UKHSA account. You can use Single Sign-On. You can then access: 

  • Discovery Search: find a specific item (such as an article or book) or browse results on a search topic from UKHSA subscribed resources, NHS core content, and open access resources 

  • BrowZine: to browse a journal tables of contents (learn more about accessing journals and articles) 

  • Resources list to select a specific platform/publisher you require 

You can also search the KLS library catalogue to find books, eBooks and print journals. 

Expert literature searching and information retrieval 

A responsive mediated  literature searching service  is available. This includes support to conduct systematic reviews.  

Request journal articles 

You can request the full text of an article if it is not available through OpenAthens. Visit our access journals and articles page for more information. 

Information skills training 

A range of information skills training is available, covering topics such as evidence searching and reference management. For more information, view our training page

Current awareness alerts

We provide current awareness alerts to help you stay up to date with research in a range of fields. 

Knowledge management and mobilisation services    

We lead on a range of knowledge management services, including peer assists, after-action reviews and support for communities of practice. 

Rapid reviews for UKHSA staff 

The Science Evidence Review team produce rapid reviews and provide methodological support to conduct your own evidence review. 

We provide guidance on copyright licensing. UKHSA staff can find research support and information about open access publishing, on the intranet.  

UKHSA site libraries 

Staffed library spaces are available across our three UKHSA sites, which enable learning, collaboration and private study.
