Detail

The Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) produces specialist guidance on the management of patients with a viral haemorrhagic fever (VHF) or other infectious diseases of high consequence.

The algorithm has been revised (version 5: 06.11.2014) and replaces the algorithm released September 2014 (Version 4 10.09.2014).

There has also been further revision of the ACDP guidance document published in 2014 to complement the algorithm:

  • the fever threshold has been changed to ≥37.5°C
  • sections 3 to 5 and appendices 4, 8, 10 and 11 have been updated

This guidance includes advice on infection control and prevention for acute trust staff.
