In urgent cases, drivers’ hours rules can be temporarily relaxed - usually in response to a specific incident and limited to specific transport operations.

This guidance explains a temporary relaxation that applies to livestock transporters involved in the delivery of live pigs from Scottish farms to abattoirs in England. It runs from 00:00 on Monday 21 August 2017 to 24:00 on Sunday 17 September 2017.
