This report explains the longitudinal development of the Taking Part survey, 2012 to 2013, the eighth year the survey has been running.

Taking Part is the key evidence source for DCMS and was commissioned primarily to provide a single evidence source on participation in culture and sport. The survey is currently used to measure and inform departmental indicators, inform the development and impact of DCMS policy, and to understand the drivers and barriers of participation in cultural and sporting activities.
