This guidance aims to improve the understanding of how grant funded Shared Ownership operates, promote good practice, support continued collaboration between landlords and lenders and widen the opportunities for potential purchasers to access home ownership.
Landlords who are a party to a Home England grant agreement should also reference the funding conditions set out in their agreement and the Capital Funding Guide.
This guidance replaces the joint Shared Ownership guidance.
It provides information for:

- registered providers offering grant funded Shared Ownership
- unregistered bodies offering grant funded Shared Ownership
- conveyancers in England
It has been produced by:
- Homes England (a non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government)
- UK Finance
- Building Societies Association
- National Housing Federation
