This joint Shared Ownership guidance has been replaced by updated Shared Ownership guidance for lenders, landlords and conveyancers.

This guidance was jointly produced by the Homes and Communities Agency (now Homes England), the Council of Mortgage Lenders (now UK Finance) and the National Housing Federation for lenders, landlords and conveyancers.

It sets out the requirements and procedures that providers of grant-funded shared ownership must conform to.

It will be of use to:

  • lenders already actively lending and to those considering lending on shared ownership
  • conveyancers who may be instructed to carry out some of the requirements as part of the conveyancing process in first tranche and subsequent tranche sales of a shared ownership property.
