Decision No 2/2020 of the Joint Committee established by the Separation Agreement of 18 December 2020.

This decision was adopted by the Separation Joint Committee on 18 December 2020. It extends the Separation Agreement social security coordination provisions to EU citizens who interacted with the UK and EEA EFTA states’ social security systems before 31 December 2020. This ensures that there are no gaps in social security coordination cover for UK nationals, EU citizens and EFTA nationals who have rights under the citizens’ rights agreements. The Withdrawal Agreement Joint Committee took an equivalent decision on 17 December 2020, extending the social security provisions of the Withdrawal Agreement to EFTA nationals who have rights.
