MSN 1838 (M) Amendment 2 MLC, 2006 Minimum Age

Information on the minimum age for seafarers and the protection of young seafarers (under 18 years) working on board UK ships.

Details

This notice should be read with Part 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Maritime Labour Convention) (Minimum Requirements for Seafarers etc.) Regulations 2014, the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) (Employment of Young Persons) Regulations 1998 and with MGN 636 (M+F) Amendment 4 health and safety at work regulations 1997. It replaces MSN 1838 (M+F) amendment 1 for merchant ships and other seagoing ships operating commercially.
