This guidance was written during the 2014 to 2015 Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

This guidance should be read in conjunction with decontamination guidance for persons with Ebola and other viral haemorrhagic fevers produced by the Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP), and advice on working with sewage produced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
