Report detailing the results of work carried out to provide a better understanding of the effects of collisions between drones and manned aircraft.

The safety of the public and manned aviation are the most important considerations for the future of drone use. The findings of the study will be used to:

  • improve our knowledge of the potential dangers of drones
  • help ensure that drones are used in a safe manner

The results of this study were used by government in making some of the decisions laid out in the response to the consultation on the safe use of drones in the UK.

This work was sponsored by the Department for Transport, the Military Aviation Authority and the British Airline Pilots’ Association.
