Details

We published our initial report on the rights of disabled people in November 2011, as required by the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

We published more information in July 2017 in connection with the UN’s first periodic review of how the United Kingdom (UK) is implementing the convention.

The UN published its report of ‘concluding observations’ on the first periodic review in August 2017.

We published our response to the concluding observations in September 2018.

On this page we have published:

  • the UK’s 2019 report to the UN, to meet the recommendation in paragraph 74 of the concluding observations related to the 2016 UN inquiry into the UK
  • a wider progress report to the UN on the work across the UK to support disabled people and ensure their full participation in society
